LIGHT & DARKNESS WAR (EPIC COMICS)

In 1987 Cam Kennedy and writer Tom Vietch created the comic book series ' The Light and Darkness War ' for Epic comics. A six issue run saw the story of Vietnam veteran Lazarus Jones and his battle to come to terms with the death of his comrades and his own paralysis. Strange things start happening to Lazarus, and we soon see him in an alternate universe, which is where the fallen from history's numberless wars pass over to when they die in battle.

Colour pages are generally painted watercolour board using Rotring waterproof watercolour inks similar to acrylic ink with touches of gouache paint. These paints age well and the colours still remain vibrant 25 or so years on. These pages really need to be seen in person to be believed!

Absolutely stunning pages for this story which mixes the Vietnam war, the afterlife, and a fantasy Viking world of floating stone ships! On this series Cam Kennedy established a his working relationship with writer Tom Veitch, producing the creator-owned Vietnam War-inspired science fiction fantasy The Light and Darkness War for Marvel Comics' Epic imprint. This led to the pair working on Star Wars  Dark Empire, for Dark Horse Comics.
