BATMAN A GOTHAM TALE (DC COMICS)
Batman # 477 (Gargoyles - A Gotham Tale Part 1), 478 (Venging Spirits - A Gotham Tale Part II)
Black & white pages, pencils & inks by Cam Kennedy with lettering pasted onto art boards. DC Art boards - 29.5cm by 42cm
Writer - John Wagner
These were the only Batman issues ever drawn by Cam Kennedy (alongside the Dredd crossover)
Batman is trapped in a vault with two other people--and there's only enough air for two! As they wait for workers to break them free, each of the victims explains why he should survive. One of the people trapped in the vault with Batman reveals the truth about the blood-sucking nightmare known as the Gargoyle. The issues were unusual as the covers joined together to create a complete image (diptych), art sculpted by Tom Taggart rather than a illustration.
Images below are example photos from the original art boards. You can see that for the most part, they appear with speech bubbles and are as seen in the published book.
